... As do many other people. Christianity is a religion like any other, accept that we're right, and they're wrong. That doesn't mean we should think we're better than someone who doesn't believe in the same stuff we do. People should be good people no matter what they believe in. That won't get you saved, but it's a required part of life: Being a good citizen. So, with all that said... God should be the one to judge not us.
I'm venting, but the Christian community has been really pissing me off lately. Even if you are a Christian, if you don't interpret certain things in certain ways or don't follow the same kind of worship that other Christians do... Then you aren't a 'good enough Christian'.
Any thoughts/comments?

Obviously I'm a douche, but I try not to be so on this issue.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I think many christian groups (at least that's what i've noticed) focus on deeds/rules way WAY more than they should. Jesus was against the Pharsees because they were so wraped up in their rules they weren't focusing on God, but on not breaking rules. Modern christianity seems to be going in that direct along with wanting to seperate from the world...which is not what we're taught. They focus more on not being worldly instead of realizing that we shouldn't be so extreme that we're not living. Plus the only way to help people is to be living in this world. There's a difference in caring about things of the world and being of the world...just retarded. It's been a big struggle/revelation for me recently.

christains are becoming more exremists now than used to....and thats all we are fighting is the war on terror...muslim extremist...not all muslims are so ardent in their beliefs....i dont know if im trying to prove a point here or not..im just saying we shouldnt cram our beliefs down others throats....if we do then we're no better than the terrorist we're fighting

I also know exactly what you're saying. I feel like this all the time. I don't know why people have to get into their bubble and make it seem like someone can't be a christian unless they fit the rules of the bubble.

yeah, i know how you feel....i hate it when people try to force their beliefs down your throat, and tell you that "you're not good enough" or whatever.
there is nothing worse than a judgemental christian, and i use this resentment as a way to better myself, i know that i hate when people judge others, so i prevent myself from judging others.

Exactly. I think it happens in most any group, not just christians. But christianity is where it bugs me more than most things. It's crazy the gossip that goes around at my (christian) school.

Any thoughts/comments? I definitely see where you are coming from. However, try not to stereotype. I know it seems like the majority of christians are that way, and in truth that is very likely. However, not all christians are that way, so be careful when you say "christians piss me off". I do agree though, I really don't like when certain Christians are so condescending. God's grace is much more powerful than they make it out to be when they are condemning others.

Aye, recently (On the computer) there has been some problems regarding who is right and who is wrong. Even at my school, I've been told I'm going to hell because I'm not christian. I usually tell them to fuck off or something along those lines. Most religion's think they are the only one's who are right, and that is not so. How I see it, is that when you die, you die, Nothing happens. Of course, hell, I could be wrong. Your soul/being could go off to some infinite beyond and live happily ever after in where ever it goes. No one actually knows just because no one has ever had that happen to them. Yeah, people say they see light when they die, but that's just from your brain cells dying out. Anyway, I'm going off topic. The point is, it's not only christians that think this way (and it's not all christians, for notdoneyet is an example.) My teacher (A catholic who went to catholic school for 13 years) thinks that he is right, no one else is. And he's sexist to. He said that woman don't belong on the later unless they're cleaning it.... that didn't go to well with the class. He believes only catholicism is correct. So, yeah, not only christians do that.
(Was that all rambling!? omfg, I need to start posting something that is actually worth reading)

www.godhatesfags.com/main/index.htmlthis is a more extreme example of why i don't tell people that i'm a christian. when asked, i'll generally respond that i believe in the divinity of Christ or something along those lines, but people like that (see above) who are just plainly filled with hatred and self-righteousness give christians everywhere a bad name. i believe the only commandments that have been given to me to follow, is to love my neighbor as myself (obviously cant be done when youre calling people "fags" and saying theyre all condemned to hell) and to love God with all you've got. you can read throughout the whole Bible, and you'll find that the religious, "law-aibiding" people had no favor in the eyes of God (the pharisees and saudacees are some good examples), and the ONLY men who pleased God were men of faith. Noah was a drunk, David an adulterer, Moses a murderer; yet these men pleased God, simply because they had faith. i believe faith to be the main factor in one's walk with God, and i believe that God is a personal God, one who knows a man's heart and does not just simply dole out blessings and punishments like a big computer program. anyway, that was my rant.

yeah, i have a friend from school, who was raised Pentacostal, and he's going to be a father soon, and we were discussing names, and i came up with "Artemis" and he said "...no...i'm not naming my daughter after a greek goddess." and i said "...well..ok...but i still like it.." (i'm facinated with greek mythology) and he said "why? it's evil....any belief that there is more than one god is evil...because there is only one god." and i made the comment "....well...yeah...i believe that too, being a christian myself...but still....it doesn't give you the right to say someone is evil just because they follow seperate beliefs from you."
and just something about him, whenever i get into a religious discussion with him, by the end of it, i feel like an aethiest.....

The thing I hate the most is the missuse of scripture. It should be read in context not cut and pasted to mean what you want it to. Anything taken out of context will lose it's initial meaning.

thats why the bible is organized into books instead of bullet points.
